SUDWALL...en Italie (Ligurie)

Et oui le Sûdwall ou "Mur de la Méditerranée" ne se terminait pas à Menton à la frontière...mais se poursuivait au delà, en Italie sur la côte Ligure (Côte d'Azur italienne): Cap Mortola, Vintimille, San Remo, Imperia, Genova, La Spezzia...etc.

Ici, quelques photos d'une batterie cotière allemande au Monte Di Portofino, près du charmant village de Portofino (le St Tropez italien), entre Rappallo et Gènes. Cette batterie battait le Golfo Paradiso vers Gènes. Les casemates ont l'air d'ètre du type M272 pour canons de 15 cm... + 2 P.O. surmontés de cuves de Flak.

Yes , great German bunkers in Italy
also there are Schartenstanden bunkers
at Triest and Lido .

Also, I saw in 2002 à big tobrouk probably for tank turret on the beach of San Remo. Do you know that??? I had visited in 1998 the Capo Mortola to research Germans or Italians bunkers...but I found nothing at all on this area. Is it true??

On the French Riviera, you can find more Italians bunkers builded in 1942-43 by the "4 ARMATTA" along the coast from East to West between Nizza at Sanary. This is a list of italians fortifications that I known and that you can visit in the South of France (in black):

NIZZA - Castel hill: batteria Giolitto (4 X 149 gun)
NIZZA- Promenade Des Anglais: casemates for mg (destroyed in september 1944)
VILLENEUVE LOUBET: Bunker for gun 47 mm antitank destroyed in 50's.
ANTIBES- FORT CARRE: bunker for Mg
GOLFE JUAN: 3 bunkers for Mg ( 2 destroyed in the 80's), only one on the Bijou Beach
CANNES-LERINS ISLAND: strongpoint "GAZELLA"...(???)
CANNES-LA BOCCA: strongpoint "GIAGUARO": big bunker for 75 mm gun and mg: destroyed in 1986
CANNES -ST CASSIEN AIRPORT: strongpoint "ORSO" (???) Batteria (4 X 75 mm gun)
LA NAPOULE: strongpoint "LUPO" Raguette Beach 4 smalls bunkers for mg
MANDELIEU- BRIDGE OF SILVER RIVER: a bunker for Mf and a casemate for gun (75 mm?)...and a german tobrouk for Mg.
THEOULES: on the beach a bunker for mg: destroyed.
ANTHEOR: a casemate for Mg (Fiat mg???)
AGAY-POINTE BAUMETTE: A casemate for gun..and a H612 german bunker
AGAY-POINTE LONGUES: a big strongpoint (3 casemates for mg and gun antitank)...another on the beach )
