Allo allo, here is a message of 043 from the Netherlands. I was invided by Pierre Piveteau, who asked me to post my pictures about building of the Char B1 (tamiya's newest 1:35 kit). I hope you like the pictures, the will give you a step by step description of building the tank.
So far stap 1 to 6. There is no pic of step 7 because you have to make some holes in the upperhull. Now we go to step 8. The first pic you can overall look about what to do in step 8. The second one has to give you a bit more sharp look on how to place the gliders for the tracks (which are operational). The last one gives you a detailed look on how to place part B4 + D6 (opposit site B3 and D5) A5 and A13.
After doing step 8 you can airbrush the left and right side matt black, just as the backside of the tracks. After this bring on the base colour and place the tracks which you can easy make by snap and click (10 minutes work).
Next pics are step 19 and 20 which made in forward.
Wright thats it so far but soon there is more to come Cheers and au revoir your friend of the north Eric (aka043)

Hi everyone, Did you started to mis me, we'll here i'm again with a big fresh and new update about the Char B1. I left you by step 8, so now were going further at step 9. In this step you are fixing upper to lower hull, and put on the drive sprockets and part B8. After fixing this you got this result
In step 10 you have to make some hull parts like armor periscope, drivers hatch, black-out headlight and if you wish auxiliary light. (but this is optional)
The black-out headlight is pretty secure to fix.(pic above). Step 11 is attaching hull parts. The tricky part in this step is fixing part B15. you have to fix this part just as part B16 to A23. But than you have to fix it very precise to the body of youre Char. So be carefull and fit it dry first!
In an earlier pic you can already see that i fixed the armor plate and armor periscope. Step 12, in this step you make the boarding hatch.
. Step 13, making the tracks, i've already earlier discussed in this forum. Step 14 needs some attention. You have to fix some small parts here on the back side of the Char. See pics.
In step 15 you may choose out of two types of fenders
Further you have to place some parts to the upperhull.
The pic is bit to small, so maybe you don't have a good look on these partsto place them. In step 16, last step in this reply, you have to make the muffler, see both pics (unbuild and build).
. To all french guys who are following this forum, hope you like the update of the Char so far. We're almost done. Au revoir Eric (aka 043)

Bonjour Eric,
You said " you may choose out of two types of fenders " what is the difference between both ?
Could you tell me if an interior is provided by Tamiya to detail the turret ?

Bojour Piwi, no there is no interrior for the turret in the box, so it's just simple from the inside. I don't know if there are already other company's wich made an intterior for the turret. The difference between both fenders is that the one on the left have a spare in the fender and the ones the right don't but they have a kind of bloc (or how do you name it) which is holding the fenders from the Char. So they don't make contact with each other. The ones on the left are making contact to the Char. Also left fenders are for making version B/C, and right are for version A/D Au revoir Eric

Sujet: Char B1 Sam 1 Juil - 0:10
So here is my following update incase of building my Char B1. Step 17 , in this step we are making the muffler and antenna
In step 18 the final step, because i build step 19 and 20 allready in forward (ofcourse the ones who did not build 19 and 20 in forward they have still to build them). you'll have to fix the chains and the tools, If you are fixing the chains to part A23 you have to make a cut in this part, hook in the chain and re-glue the part.
You have to be carefull by fixing the tools, to place them in good order. After fixing the chains to the hook i coloured them with some pigment colours and a drip of water.
So i'm now ready with building my char so lets give it a colour. First of all i airbrushed the thing overall matt black, after that i put on the base colour which is for my char dark yellow. When i'm finished with dark yellow i used the colours red brown and olive green to make my three tone scheme completed.
I'll still have to bring on a layer of "van Dyke's brown" to make the model a bit older and ofcourse it wil need to be drybrushed. Au revoir and greetings to all of you.......Vive la France!!!!! Eric When i totaly finished the model i'll let you see. And maybe when i'm hate the german camo i'll re- airbrushed the thing in to a french tank.
